Tèxtils.CAT has completed two European projects that have generated various training materials of interest to companies and educational centers in the sector.
Both projects, CLEANTEX and FACTIVE, started in the fall of 2020 and lasted for two years. They were co-financed by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program and involved close collaboration between the private and academic sectors.
CLEANTEX and FACTIVE are part of the skill development line of Tèxtils.CAT’s strategy, aiming to accelerate strategic and technological capabilities and attract talent to drive innovation and resilient growth in the sector.
The first project, CLEANTEX, aimed to promote the adoption of circular economy principles and ecodesign to enhance the skills of textile engineering students and sector workers through intersectoral cooperation with higher education institutions, addressing key issues in the textile industry and promoting sustainability.
As a result, a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) has been created, containing seven modules: Introduction to Circular Economy, Ecodesign, Sustainable Fibers and Materials, Waste Management and Recycling, Sustainable Production Processes, Sustainable Chemical Processes, and Business Management and Quality. Additionally, a guide for implementing life cycle analysis and ecodesign in the textile industry has been produced, featuring 18 successful case studies from sector companies, 4 of which are cluster members. Download the guide.
On the other hand, the FACTIVE project aimed to improve the quality of training offerings in the sector by developing an innovative learning methodology to enhance the level and assessment of students’ competencies and align vocational training quality with the current needs of the European textile industry.
The final output consists of two manuals for applying the Flipped Classroom methodology, with guidelines and proposals for trainers. The manuals detail key factors for engaging students and include literature on the inverted classroom model applied to the textile sector, resources such as gamification in the learning process, various classroom scenarios, and examples of different inverted classroom models based on the trainer’s expertise level.
