Tèxtils.CAT was present at the round table “Greening the Textile Sector,” organized by the agency FleishmanHillard in Brussels.
The round table featured speakers from the European Commission, the European textile employers’ association EURATEX, the civil society organization European Environmental Bureau, and The Policy Hub.
Some of the topics discussed during the round table included the fact that the textile industry is broad and diverse; it includes various sectors beyond fashion, such as technical textiles and textiles for the home, which account for approximately 40% of textile production in Europe, according to EURATEX. The European Commission aims to comprehensively address the sector by including it in its strategy and action plan for the coming years.
